CRIME AND PUNISHMENT
Crime and Punishment follows Rodion Raskolnikov, an impoverished ex-student who murders an elderly pawnbroker, justifying the act through his intellectual theory that extraordinary men are exempt from conventional morality. The novel chronicles Raskolnikov's intense psychological torment, paranoia, and internal struggle with guilt following the crime, as he interacts with various characters who challenge his nihilistic worldview.
CONCLUSION: Ultimately, Dostoyevsky concludes that true justice and redemption are found not through intellectual justification or evasion of earthly law, but through suffering, confession, and the profound spiritual renewal that comes from accepting moral responsibility.
